NanoFARM - Fate and Effects of Agriculturally Relevant Materials

To determine how agricultural manufactured nanomaterials (MNM) properties, applied concentration, spatial distribution and temporal behavior in different soil types, influence MNM uptake by important crop plants, toxicity, multigenerational effects on soil organisms, bioaccumulation/trophic transfer, and potential for ecological impacts. 

NanoFertil - Effect of soil (in)organic constituents on the efficacy, fate and phytoavailability of fertilizer and plant protection manufactured nanomaterials

To address essential gaps in knowledge about how soil properties, soil organic and inorganic constituents as well as properties and concentration of manufactured nanomaterials (MNM) affect the spatial and temporal behavior of nanopesticides and nanofertilizers in soils.

Demonstrating the possibilities of using biomass fly ash (wastes from biomass power plant) as adsorbent agent for the heavy metal contents and other hazardous organic compounds contained in local WWTP sludge in order to use the later as low-impact fertilizer.
